A crazy story about how the Universe helps & supports you
A crazy story about how the Universe helps & supports you
Has it ever happened to you, that you wanted something very much, and to your biggest surprise, the Universe (or God, or a higher power, or luck, whichever you believe in) just shipped it in the most surprising and unpredictable way? This is what happened to me at Christmas, and I am still blown away by it…
Like a good film, the story started from two different directions:
- When I was shooting the videos for the Sapiego® YouTube channel, I was talking a lot about how much I would like to find a manager/agent to help me build up my music career. But, since English is not my native language, I wasn’t sure if „manager” or „agent” is the correct word for the person I was looking for. I looked up the words, and it turned out that these are different roles. This made me realise that there are many things that I don’t know about the music industry, so I sat down and I wrote down a lot of questions that I wanted to find answers for. My plan was to look these questions up online, or find people from the industry who could answer to my questions.
- I got a John Lewis gift card from my friend for my birthday.
After Christmas, to get advantage of the sales, I went to John Lewis on Oxford Street, London, to try to buy something for myself. I thought that in a big shop like that I would find something: maybe a nice jewellery, or a dress that I could wear at future performances.
Haha, how naïve I was! It turned out to be a complete disaster:
- I could hardly find anything that I liked.
- The 2 dresses I liked were not in my size.
- The jewellery I liked was way over the amount I was willing to spend on them.
- There was a Waterstones book store there, but I did not go in, because I am so busy with my full-time job and the Sapiego® related work in my free time, that I basically have no time to read books, unfortunately.
So, after I checked the whole store, my heart sank, and I got into quite a grumpy mood. I went to other stores to look around, but since I had the gift card, at the end of the day I returned to John Lewis.
And this time I dragged myself into Waterstones. I thought that maybe I could find a music related book, maybe a biography or something, that would be interesting to learn from how others made their way in the music industry.
And after a little browsing, I suddenly saw it. The book, exactly just what I needed: All You Need to Know About the Music Business. It was put on a display on the shelf, like it was displayed specifically for me to be able to find it easily. Because let’s face it: how many people would have looked for that book right at that moment? Non, apart from me, right? Suddenly I remembered that I wrote down all of those questions about how to build a successful career in music, and this book could hold all the answers I was looking for.
I took the book off the shelf, sat down into a chair, checked the contents, and it turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. I immediately saw that yes, managers and agents are two distinctive roles, and there are tons of other chapters that would answer to all of my other questions.
As I went back to the shelf, that spot where I took be book off was already occupied by another book. One that I had no interest in at all…
I was stunned, because the whole situation was like: I had to suffer and agonise for hours by not really finding anything, just to come back to the store to finally find the most important thing that I was looking for. The Universe „made” the shop assistant put the book on display that I needed the most. And as soon as I removed the book from there, they put something else there. I think this is just mind-blowing…
Of course, Waterstones did not accept the John Lewis gift card, despite being in the building… So, I still had to find something to spend my gift card on. I ended up buying a ceramic wok. 😀 Which is the funniest thing, because:
- I actually needed it, I wanted to replace my non-stick wok to a healthier, PFA free option,
- The friend who gave me the gift card loves to cook for others, that is one way how she expresses her love. 😊
So, after the „struggles”, the story had a happy ending. I am so happy with my book. And of course, now I make the time to read it. Because to learn about the music industry is a priority for me right now, and if you prioritize something you always find the time to do it. It’s a great book so far: not only very informative, but the authors have a great humour, I laugh a lot.
Has something similar happened to you? A crazy synchronicity? What is a priority right now for you, that you are willing to put the time in for? I would love to read about your experiences. 😊
Warm regards,
Borbala
